Endpoint Manager - Polycom - New MAC range?

We have a Polycom VVX 250 with the MAC address beginning 48:25:67

We cannot see the phone in the network scan, and was wondering if the above Mac Address is not classed as a “polycom” mac.

Was hoping to confirm that, and get possible suggestions in how to add it to the range (Short of manually adding it of course)?

I believe wireshark does MAC address lookups.

I have the full mac address, i didnt want to share it on a public forum.

I was hoping to configure my endpoint manager to actually detect my new phone

The end point manager doesn’t detect anything. You need to add that MAC to the system per the normal methods.

My
cat /usr/share/nmap/nmap-mac-prefixes| grep 482567
shows ‘poly’ . on line lookup shows it was new in 2020

Network scan does ?

My file doesn’t have that prefix, which is pretty helpful and makes sense. Thanks!

I’m confused as to why my copy doesnt contain the prefix. Can i/Should i manually add?

You can , if the discovery is by nmap it should work, me:-

ls -l /usr/share/nmap/nmap-mac-prefixes
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 824437 Jan 16 2023 /usr/share/nmap/nmap-mac-prefixes

grep -C 2 482567 /usr/share/nmap/nmap-mac-prefixes
482218 Shenzhen Yipingfang Network Technology
482335 Dialog Semiconductor Hellas SA
482567 Poly
48262C Apple
4826E8 Tek-Air Systems

but be careful , the others are Polycom

grep -i poly /usr/share/nmap/nmap-mac-prefixes
00045E PolyTrax Information Technology AG
0004F2 Polycom
0007CA Creatix Polymedia Ges Fur Kommunikaitonssysteme

The MAC prefix 48:25:67 belongs to Polycom (now Poly). If the phone does not appear on the network, check that it obtains an IP address via DHCP. I’ve had this problem before, and restarting the switch or assigning a static IP sometimes solved the problem.

Endpoint Manager has not had any substantive updates in a LONG WHILE…and even though your phone is listed in the Polycom template, you can’t download a firmware for it - this is off a FreePBX 17 machine fully up to date:

1.11 is the highest it will offer me and that phone (and lots of others) are not even on the list - and 5.5.1 came out in March of 2017 - so almost 8 years old at this point:

Endpoint Manager is basically unsupported now except for Sangoma Phones…
