End user recording their own daily announcements

We have an end user who wants to insert an announcement in to their IVR so that when users call in it says “There are no known issues” or something like that. If there are issues, they want to be able to record a new announcement to be played before the IVR starts stating the issue.

Is it possible to use a feature code to allow the user to record an announcement to a fixed System Recording entry, which can be set in to an IVR?


Using the shiney new wiki (so good we’ve just signed up for Confluence as well) I see that you can.


For the sake of Google, you basically create the system recording the first time via the web interface and assign it a feature code. You can then have the end user dial the feature code to re-record the announcement without needing access to the web interface.
