Efax not working

Please advise,

We Installed Asterisk with FreePBX 2.9.0 on CentOS 5.6.

I’m having trouble getting efax (fax to PDF) to work on an extension.

My settings are as follows:

Asterisk SIP Settings:
T38 Pass-Through Yes

InBound route:
Detect Faxes: Yes
Fax Detection type: SIP
Fax Detection Time: 4
Fax Destination: Fax Recipient : “an extension number: 949xxxxxxx” (I x’d the number for privacy here)…

Fax Enabled: (check box)
Fax email: (email address)

I’m puzzled why FreePBX does’t seem to detect an incoming Fax Call (from a fax machine) and covert to PDF and email it. The call only rings the IP Phone extension…

Are we missing some of: spandsp libraries and nvfax?

We installed FreePBX and Asterisk using tar files downloaded from the web sites. Kind of new at this, but I tried the Asterisk command “core show applications” and it returned the following list. It listed “ReceiveFAX: Receive a Fax” and “SendFAX: Send a Fax”. Is that sufficient or are we still missing some components?

Try to remove the fax detection and send the DID directly to the Fax Recipient.

Yes, I tried that and it sill doesn’t work.

Just to clarify, I’m trying to utilize the same DID for both voice and efax (not a fax machine on extension).

When a voice call comes in on the DID it rings the extension just fine!

When an incoming fax call rings the same DID it rings the actual voice extension instead of pbx answering and converting the fax-call to PDF and emailing it…

Is this a configuration, or setting issue?
