I need help with getting DPMA setup so that I can config my Digium IP phone. I cannot get a license key, and I need help to figure this out.
What license key? For a Digium D65 you dont need a license for EPM…it’s free.
I cannot get it to work though. Is it because I am running on Debian and using FreePBX 17?
Can you please describe the steps you’re taking?
Did you install the res_digium package?
Run dpkg --get-selections | grep digium
, you should see something like this:
asteriskXX-res-digium-phone
If it’s installed, you should be able to configure it by going to the Endpoint Manager module and then to Global Settings - DPMA Management
So i got the digium phone package, but I cannot get endpoint manager to work at all. supposedly it is supposed to be free for digium phones. I tried installing the sysadmin module, but I get an error stating that sysadmin rpm is out of date.
can you paste the error please?
fwconsole ma list | grep -E 'sysadmin|endpoint'
but I get an error stating that sysadmin rpm is out of date.
If you are using SNG7 distro then please perform yum update sysadmin*
.
I am using debian 12.
This is what happened when i ran the command.
Did you try to run downloadinstall instead of install ?
fwconsole ma downloadinstall sysadmin --tag 17.0.2.12
And then endpoint manager:
fwconsole ma downloadinstall endpoint --tag 17.0.2.10
Same issue.
We’ve deployed about six newer Digium phones on the recommend of Sangoma staff.
They came out of the box in a boot loop and it got worse from there. They continue to be a problem to this day and my request to return them was ignored.
Unless you are very, very committed to them, my advice is to use different handsets.
Caveat emptor, YMMV.
“Newer Digium phones”…what do you mean? There are no newer Digium phones. I use dozens of D65s with freePBX 15 servers, stable & solid. Great phones!!!
I got them working. I just needed to reinstall the system.
