Dialing out to any phone number

Guys, I have a phone configured to dial out but, I only get to call my Trunk number. When calling any number it will not ring out, but if I call the Trunk number which I have set up as a Follow me feature the call goes through. What needs to be configured in order to be able to dial out. Thanks in advance.

TY… I have those set up, but looking at phone, the lines says unregistered. How can I register them?.

I would suggest you read the wiki on how to setup a FreePBX server, register phones, etc. This is all very basic stuff covered clearly in the wiki. Or you can watch the step by step videos by CrossTalk Solutions. Then if you have specific questions feel free to come back and ask.

I have Freepbx set up. I can forward calls to outside numbers, like cell phones, and landlines and if I dial the Trunk number, which I have set up to forward to my cell phone, works. But, I can’t figure out how to make phone calls and receive phone calls from and to outside phones. I’ve followed every video about the subject and still can’t get it to work. I’m trying to test on Polycom phones and can’t seem to find any pertinent information on how to register the lines for the phones to work. Thanks

Please describe your setup: On-site or cloud? If on-site, virtual or physical? If virtual and not using bridged networking, provide details. If cloud, which platform?

What, if anything, appears in the Asterisk log when your phones attempt to register? If nothing, run sngrep and report what, if anything, appears there.

If nothing there, either, post screenshots of settings on one Polycom and the corresponding settings for the extension in FreePBX.

I’m a DigitalOcean Droplet, Centos 7. Here’s what I keep getting from the logs.

Please confirm that you set up your extension as pjsip.

If you still have trouble, at the Asterisk command prompt (not a shell prompt) type
pjsip set logger on
wait for the phone to attempt registration, paste the Asterisk log showing at least one REGISTER request and the associated reply at pastebin.freepbx.org and post the link here.

NO, extension is set up as sip… This device uses CHAN_SIP technology listening on Port 5160 (UDP)

You should set it up as pjsip. If you must use chan_sip, you need to put :5160 after the PBX IP address in the phone setup, or (if your phone has a separate field for the port number), put 5160 in that box.

@Stewart1, you’re a mensch… Thank you very much… And I mean that seriously.

Quick question… How do I set it to receive calls?..

Never mind. Got it. Thank you very much.
