Debian 13 fail2ban upgrade

debian13.5 upgrade tries to upgrade fail2ban 1.0.2.2 to version 1.1.0-8, but the upgrade breaks on

unpack fail2ban (1.1.0-8) over (1.0.2-2) dpkg overwrite error on archive /etc/fail2ban/action.d/iptables-allports.conf which is also a package of sng12.

All following packages will not be upgraded because of that break.

What to do?

  1. How to hold package? apt hold package-name???
  2. How to allow upgrade? Disabling firewall doesn’t help. Moving allports.conf doesn’t help

Debian 13 is not a supported OS for FreePBX v17 at this time. How did you end up on Debian 13?

I initially set up the pbx-servers on debian 13, on 2 physically running fujitsu esprimo PCs working for 1/2 to one year now, in addition 3rd freepbx 17 on 1 virtual box, also debian 13, on a third fujitsu exprimo small size pc.

Never made problems, but today I started my first apt update && apt upgrade -y

Then how did you end up with the Debian 12 and sng12 packages?

good question. As far as I remember, first I installed debian-os, no gui. Than downloaded sng packages via whatever repository or via somewhere here published install script. Nearly too long ago to remember.

That install script is for Debian 12 only. So if you used it on Debian 13 it installed packages not meant for Debian 13 and now you have a bunch of conflicting packages.
