Copied my new PBX image to the Data Center... can I use the original as a cold spare?

Hi,

I was setting up our new PBX in my development lab… aka home… finally have everything setup and we moved it up to our hosting site over the weekend… all is good working well.

question: can I fire up the copy to do updates/etc and use it as a cold spare?.. it has the same ID as the one I copied to the DC.

just wondering if problems might arise if the sangoma portal sees two systems with the same Deployment ID for a period of time, i have registered licenses/modules

The appropriate answer here is yes they phone home and odds are one will stop working. Each system should have it’s own licenses for everything. If/when/how long it would take is a different story. Technically if they are never on at the same time then both wouldn’t phone home together.

thanks, what I thought, I can always shut down the primary on the weekend or end of day and do a quick update on any extensions and modules.
