Cisco 79xx Phones Intercom

Hello All,

First time post but I have been lurking for a while now. I have an issue that i just cannot seem to find much info on and would really like any help… :slight_smile:

I would like to setup paging/intercom on my 2.9/2.10 distro. I have the paging setup, but now want to use the *80 then a number intercom systems. If I enable the auto-answer on the 7960-40’s, then they answer every call that is sent to them even when not using the *80 method. If I have that disabled, then every-time I try to use the *80 method, it states that the line is busy after 2 rings.

I have also used the *54 and such to enable and disable to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

The 79xx series phones do not respond to the alert-info message header. They can’t do this.

The only way is to create another line appearance and burn a button on the phone.

that stinks! What would be the best phone that supports all asterisks feature sets?

What about the YeaLink T-28 phones?

Any other phone but the Cisco. The Yealinks are fine.

The Cisco SPA phones are fine too, just the converted call manager phones don’t support it.
