Can't register SIP trunk

Aloha,

Just installed freepbx distro from this website.

I cannot get my SIP trunk (Nextiva) to register. I have 2 Grandstream GXP2200 that register without problem and I can make calls between them. However, no incoming or outgoing calls are successful. When looking at the status screen it shows 2 phones registered and 1 SIP trunk online but not registered.

Here is “sip show registry”

Host dnsmgr Username Refresh State Reg.Time
208.73.146.95:5060 N 316215819 120 Request Sent
1 SIP registrations.

Here is “sip show peers”

Name/username Host Dyn Forcerport ACL Port Status
301/301 192.168.7.122 D A 42279 OK (1 ms)
302/302 192.168.7.125 D A 32489 OK (1 ms)
Nextiva/316215819 208.73.146.95 5060 Unmonitored
3 sip peers [Monitored: 2 online, 0 offline Unmonitored: 1 online, 0 offline]

This is a new install and I’ve followed instructions from freepbx first steps after load as well as Nextiva’s instructions for Outgoing peer details:
disallow=all
allow=ulaw
username=xxxxxxxxx
fromuser=xxxxxxxxx
type=friend
secret=xxxxxxxxx
qualify=no
maxexpirey=3600
host=208.73.146.95
fromdomain=208.73.146.95
insecure=invite
dtmfmode=auto
session-timers=refuse
defaultexpirey=60
nat=no
canreinvite=no
context=from-trunk

I’m a PBX noob so any help is greatly appreciated.

I’m not certain, but it appears that you’ve misunderstood something.

Your GXP2200’s will register TO your system.

However, your system must register TO Nextiva. To do that, you need to put something into the register string on the trunk settings. generally, that something will be:

username:password@host

However, Nextiva uses:

username:password@host/username

Do you have that set properly?

It appears that you’ve done that, as your Sip Show Registry shows:

Host dnsmgr Username Refresh State Reg.Time
208.73.146.95:5060 N 316215819 120 Request Sent
1 SIP registrations.

This says to me that you’re sending a registration request, but Nextiva is not responding. I’d check and make sure that your computer has internet access, and the contact Nextiva to find out why they aren’t responding to your registration request.
