I have noticed when dialling internal extensions on the same network as well as when calling into the PTSN from a phone number, calls drop at around 20-30 seconds. I have seen other posts similar to this but not found a clear solution (probably because i am still an amateur). If anyone has any ideas of what to try let me know. Also, it sometimes only has one-way audio but this isn’t as common as the calls dropping.
All calls are normally from a phone number! What do you mean by the term?
20 seconds is a typical timeout to avoid going to voicemail. 32 seconds is typically the result of firewall or NAT problems, in particular being behind NAT, but not having configured your public address, although both of these only apply to VoIP, and you haven’t said you are using that.
We really need the Asterisk full log file for a failing call. We may need protocol logging turning on (details depend on the channel type in use). Also details of the network, including locations of NAT and firewalls, and any non-IP parts.
