Call Recording module for outbound calls?

Hi,

Is there a way to use the Call Recording module for outbound calls? Reason being that we don’t want recording to begin until the callee answers. This in order to save disk space as recording is adding 3.5GB to our system every day.

Another option would be to convert recordings to mp3 but that breaks the ability to retrieve the recordings through the Call Recording Reports commercial module…

So if you are asking if you can just specify that your outbound calls are recorded on not your inbound call, yes you can do that on the latest versions of FreePBX.

We are recording outbound calls based on the per-extension recording settings. However, the entire call, including initial ring tones is recorded. I was hoping to avoid recording ring tones/call setup by somehow sending the calls through the Call Recording module with Call Recording mode = “Record on Answer”. Or is that only possible for inbound calls?
