Built your business around FreePBX? So did I

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share something we’ve been working on internally at Sangoma that I think will resonate with a lot of the larger FreePBX providers, MSPs, and operators here.

Before joining Sangoma by way of acquisition in 2020, my company (.e4) built a business around FreePBX deployments and wholesale carrier services. We managed large fleets, dealt with customer retention, fought margin pressure, handled upgrades across deployments, and lived many of the same challenges a lot of you are dealing with today.

One thing that became obvious over the years:
Many large FreePBX operators are already running successful businesses around the platform, but they’re often piecing together multiple vendors to make it all work.

That’s part of why we built the Sangoma Carrier Voice module and expanded some of the programs around it.

For larger FreePBX deployments, we’re now offering things like:

• Aggressive DID and wholesale minute pricing - We can match or beat it…
Tight integration directly through the FreePBX module
Fleet-wide module/version governance tools
• Free commercial modules for qualified environments
Free OEM branding opportunities for select accounts

The OEM side is something I’m especially excited about. If you’re operating at scale and building your own business around FreePBX, we want to help you strengthen your own brand identity on the platform, not compete with it.

This isn’t meant to be a hard sales pitch. Honestly, I just know there are a lot of operators in this community doing exactly what we used to do at .e4, and I wanted to let people know these programs exist.

If you’re running a serious FreePBX footprint and want to compare notes, talk wholesale voice, OEM branding, or fleet management, feel free to reach out directly via DM, or add some time on my calendar.

Mike White
VP, Open Source

After a week in space :rocket: – okay Rocket City, co-leading FreePBX training with @slobera and meeting many of the stellar HSV Sangoma staff – feeling well-grounded this week thanks to Sangoma VP of Open Source @mwhite’s exampled leadership!

Same! Great focus on that!

:light_bulb: this new Carrier Voice + OEM program is the launch of FreePBXapps.com and builds on our renewed efforts to provide improved services to customers who are migrating away from stale mirrors that may have been blocking cool new features and important security updates like these just this week.

As for the Carrier Voice component, that also excites YT, particularly in the context of Dynamic Location Routing in FreePBX – since Always Be Conferencing days :penguin: – and was recently the focus of some dial plan examples at AstriCon 2026 on DLR (fast forwarded to those parts below):

But this current topic builds on the other major Sangoma OS leadership news this week!

ICYMI on Monday:

The most revolutionary new (open source!) PBX module from Sangoma (or anyone in the space ?!) in perhaps the last decade: Frogman, the :sparkles: super-chat Model Context Protocol (MCP) glue for :robot: (or :man_astronaut:) ↔ :frog: to hug :hugs: and get along. (No, it’s NOT an AI inside your PBX, but a way for external AI to interface with your PBX in a headless manner :jack_o_lantern: :horse_racing:.)

Lots more to come! v18
