ATA For Door Intercom / Entry system

Hi,

we’re upgrading a fifteen year old analog phone system to FreePBX. All is going fairly smoothly but there’s a door entry system with door strike buttons under the front desk and an analog intercom system visitors use to call into the reception phone.

The system is made by viking and we’re not going to replace it but we’re needed two Analog to SIP converters so the intercom can call our FreePBX system. I’d like them to be configured as regular extensions - so I’m looking for hardware suggestions.

Not wanting to spend a ton of $$ on a fancy gateway, just something simple.

Resist the temptation to get one of these used off Ebay. SIP providers like Vonage distributed these by the tens of thousands and the used market is flooded with them. Those are all locked to the SIP provider. While it’s possible to unlock them you have to solder a header to the device:
