No @billsimon but will poke around – IMHO there’s room for improvement whenever giving cron jobs 5 stars (because that looks like a server.)
Kind of seems like a systemd timer/service should be used for this. It avoids the crontab being overwritten constantly and missing this being added for various reasons. It would also would run after startup even after the system’s been offline for hours or days and its scheduled run was missed. Oh yeah, there’s logging for when it fails instead of it dying silently with no idea what happened.
crons are fine and all but having things like certs or backup jobs being not written out because the entire crontab had to be rewritten because of another module is (and has been) problematic.
Moving renewals and other parts of FreePBX in that direction would be welcome discussion for v18.
