[Amportal-users] Multi-Tenant

carlos,

A. are you aware that in 2.1.1 your can setup the “inbound routes” to route
on ZAP Channel? To do this you have to set the context for that channel in
zapata.conf to “from-zaptel” and not “from-pstn” then set the inbound route
to pass the call to the the ring group that rings all the phones.

B. if case A does not work I would use a ATA like sipura 2000 with a FXO
port and create a sip extension for it and have that extension use a custom
context that just rings all the phones. then plug the door fone into FXO and
the other side into the network into the server. You could even set up the
dialplan in the ATA such that when you go offhook [pick up the fone] all the
fones ring immediately. this way the visitor does not have to dial any
numbers

B,

We do have individual POTS lines with individual numbers. Some do
belong in a hunt group. We have a total of 12 lines coming in, 4 for
Business A, 4 for Business B, 2 for Business C, 1 for D, 1 for E.
Business A, B, and C have hunting from the phone company. I’ve already
separated them into different groups through the zapata-auto.conf file,
but that only appears to work on the outbound side, not the inbound.
Unless, in the inbound routes we can specify g0, g1 instead of
individual channel. But then, my original problem still exists where we
can’t sort the rules…

The DR - is not an option, since it’s a door entry phone, and don’t want
to have the person wait for the message with the options, we want
something that goes straight to all the phone sets in the suite.

DID - this would be ideal, except we don’t have a PRI yet. I’m working
on this, since it seems that we’re going to be creating a few other
entities, and things will simply get more complicated…

Thanks,

Carlos,

Do you have individual POTS line with individual numbers from the phone
company or are the numbers in a hunt group over the same line?

If you do have individual lines with individual numbers then why not
create a Zaptel group for number just that number then use the incoming
routes to route on that channel (group)

OR why not use the Digital receptionist to route: For Shipping,
deliveries and Rcv’ng press 4 … then have 4 ring all the phones in a
defined ring group

OR if your trunk passes DID number why not use the inbound route to
identify the DID and route it to a ring group with all the numbers in
it.

I might still be missing something in your problem so bear with me.

Actually you can differentiate inbound caller ID if you use E&M instead
of plain old loop start. You will have to check with your local telco
to see if they support this.

For Example -

For outgoing, I’ve been modifying (yes, manually) the groups that

We are using ring groups right now for the VoIP numbers, but the real
issue is in the pots lines coming into the TDM2400 is that there’s no
way to differentiate them to the proper groups and have it follow CID
based rules…So if FedEx is downstairs, and attempting to make a >
delivery, we want all phones in the office to ring, not just > the
company > that was called, since anyone can sign for the package.

Is there no way to have a sorting order for the inbound routes? The
Any/Any should always be last, and everything else should be >
“sortable”

Maybe this should be a “feature request”…

look at how [ext-local] is used. You might be able to use custom
derivations of this context to separate the businesses. You can
even
use
custom contexts to guard it.

If you are also thoughtfful about it you can even create a seperate
digital receptionist for each of the business > > hope this helps.

I was going to use the inbound routes with the zaptel channel option,
but we also need DID based routing. For example, when a
call comes in
from front door (delivery, etc.) we need all phones to ring. If we
create a inbound route based on channel, it supercedes the DID based
routes.

Anyone have any ideas on how to best handle this?
