Am I running the latest release?

Hello,

I was checking my server and noticed that I’m running version 5.211.65-21. A few months back I remember running a module to upgrade to the FreePBX 12 Beta. I also have the System Admin Pro module to make version upgrades simpler. Since that point I have had plenty of module updates but no System Updates. I looked at the website and noticed that 6.12.65 is the most current release.

Is there something wrong with my installation that would be preventing me from upgrading? I had installed straight from the FreePBX Distro ISO a few years back. Perhaps upgrading to the Beta back then has caused me some sort of issue? Or perhaps the 6.12.65 upgrade through System Update isn’t released yet (I see there are upgrade scripts available)?

Distro upgrades are done through the CLI not through the GUI unless you have setup that functionality through Sysadmin.

What do you mean by “setup that functionality”? As I said I have the Pro module. When I purchased it there were multiple minor upgrades available and when I checked the update section of the Pro module it showed them available. I don’t remember setting anything up to make that happen however. When I check that section now it just says system is up to date. However I do not have anything set for the option of when to update because my understanding is that this checks for updates and installs them automatically, and I would prefer to just be notified of the update in the Pro modules GUI and decide when to initiate that update.

Check out http://wiki.freepbx.org/display/FD/FreePBX-Distro-5.211.65. There is a script that will “take your 5.211.65 version system to a 6.12.65-20 version”. I think you have to run this from the CLI.

Sure, but I paid for the Pro module and am under the impression this should handle this.

So I guess I purchased the SysAdmin Pro module for it not to work?

I should be able to see updates and perform them through the GUI.

There are no available upgrades listed, this makes no sense. I get that I can use the CLI but I purchased the Commercial module and would like it to perform correctly.

I too was under the same impression, while mine did check for new updates, apparently it did not install them. I had to click on a link next to the update, one at a time to install them.

I am now at version 6.12.65-24, but to get to this point I had to run the scripts as it kept locking up.

Update Management - The Updates Management module allows you to at a glance check your current system version, view available update, and schedule when updates are to be applied to the system. You can also watch the upgrade process in progress.

My update is set for daily, yet while I was on version 5, there was about 10 updates sitting there doing nothing.

Saying that, upon checking my logs for the updates, this is shown.

So it would seem the script is checking, these are not updates as it does not show the update process like some in my logs, which was from me recently.

I will keep an eye on this for version changes.
