*77 activated system recording does not work

i am trying to record my VM message using *77 using the freepbx interface. however, i receive the dialtone after i press *77. any ideas what i am doing wrong?

i have looked up everywhere but no solution on any message board. there is no sip debug message even. at least as far as i know how to generate the log messages.

sip debug is on. but no message on terminal after i dial *77 from the extension…

sounds like your phone/ata is never sending the *77 to asterisk. Either disable what ever *77 is on your phone/ata or change *77 to something that your phone transmits in the featurecode panel.

thank you. indeed that is what the problem was. i went ahead and removed all *XX from the interface on my Linksys PAP2.
