25 Year License

I’m considering purchasing the PINSet Pro 25 year license for $45. Just wanted to confirm, that all I pay is $45 right? there is no other hidden costs? and next payment will be just before the 25 years is up? How does the license work if new versions of FreePBX come out etc?

I’d like PINSet Pro to do the following:

Certain extensions that are in open spaces shouldn’t be able to dial outside.
Pins to be allocated and each user will have a PIN so to make a call from these extensions if they put a valid pin in then it lets them dial. But then that PIN will be documented as belonging to certain user. So for accountability makes it easier.

Is this possible with PINSet Pro?

Hi John, for a 25 year license you will need to pay an annual maintenance fee after the first 12 months for ongoing software updates. This is 33% of the current MSRP for all commercial modules under $100. For all commercial modules over $100, the fee is 18% of the current MSRP. The only exception is SysAdmin Pro. I hope this helps, Kieran.

So the annual fee is for updates for the commercial module. What if I didn’t want update for it? Could I not just use it as is with the 25 year license without updates ?

Technically, you can. But it’s not recommended as there may be other modules that rely on that commercial module being updated. This is most commonly seen with EndPoint Manager and PhoneApps. If you are going to invest in the 25 year license, then it’s advisable to commit to the annual maintenance. Why would you not want something that’s important to you receiving the software updates it might need? But that’s up to you, it’s not mandatory. If you’re unsure, you could just go for a 1 year license for the time being and extend it in the future. Newer commercial modules that are being released for FreePBX are no longer available with 25 year licenses. K
