I have a question regarding the zap channel DIDs feature in freepbx.
It seems this is used for analog pstn lines, but I was wondering if this is applicable also to PRI T1/E1 DIDs.
I'm asking because I found a link that shows how to route PRI DID calls, but using plain asterisk:
In the article I don't see anywhere the step where you need to assign zap channel to a DID number.

This article does not apply to FrePBX.
Zap DID's are for FXO lines so you can route on a per port basis.
Any circuit capable of sending DNIS information (like a PRI) uses the standard inbound routing module.
