if a person is on a call for an extension that is on two devices, can the put the call on hold on one extension and pick it up on another?

If an extension is on a call if a endpoint with the same extension goes off hook are they on the same call?

No.

I am reliably informed that this would be possible with Asterisk ARI, but FreePBX presently doesn’t work like this “out of the box”
