Hello,
I’m using freepbx-2.10.0rc1-1 and I’m wondering is it safe to do a yum update to update the base system packages? I only have the default repos installed.
Also, I see there are updates from the pbx repo. Are those not installed from the module admin? Because I show no updates available.
Thanks!
The RPMs of the operating system have nothing to do with FreePBX GUI/Modules.
FreePBX runs as the Asterisk user so it would never even have permissions to install yum packages.
It is always dangerous doing blind yum updates so do it careful. If you are using the FreePBX Distro than use the upgrade scripts that can be found at http://www.freepbx.org/forum/freepbx-distro/distro-discussion-help/stable-release-versions
Perfect Tony thank you I’ll make sure to bookmark the page and use the upgrade scripts.
You must apply each update script in order from the version you are on to the version you want to go to correct? You can’t simply download the latest version jump multiple updates.
brannony,
Correct, you need to apply the update scripts in order.
