Yealink phones wont light message light

I am running my first 2.9 installation and have ran into an issue with message light notification to yealink phones.
The phones are T28P phones running firmware version 2.60.0.120

I have these running on earlier versions of free pbx and they work just fine. Does anyone have any insight on this?

BTW, msg notification to email works just fine.

I have turned on “subscribe to MWI” in the advanced account settings on the phone. Still not working correctly. the phone beeps and has to wait however many seconds the MWI period is set to.
