I have this strange issue,
in my freepbx15 sip settings I have the following code list:
alaw
ulaw
g729
in my fanvil x4g phones I have the same list
alaw
ulaw
g729
in all my pjsip extensions I have the codec fields blank.
So… if I call an extension that is inside my local network 192.168.25.0/24 I can see from cli that the codec on both sides is alaw.
If I call an extension that is located over the openvpn network 10.0.90.0/24 I can see alaw on my side and g729 on the openvpn vpnside.
Why is this happening? I tried too remove from the ip phone located on the openvpside all available codecs except alaw and if I try a call will immediately hangup. Honestly I think that is some related setup of the the fanvil ipphone that will force g729 if the bandwith is not so much…
