Where are the logs?

to investigate a problem that has my asterisk disconnecting from the trunk on a regular basis, I have been asked to check the logs. Which log would I check for that, and where can I find it?

Thanks. I also found where I could look at the logs in FreePBX. Duuh. Sorry for wasting bandwidth.
