Warm Spare Backup Changes System Name: FREEPBX_SYSTEM_IDENT

FreePBX 14.0.11
Current Asterisk Version: 13.22.0
PBX Firmware: 12.7.6-1904-1.sng7
PBX Service Pack: 1.0.0.0

When our nightly warm spare backup job runs, it’s changing the name of our warm spare system. They’re supposed to be named pbx1 & pbx2, but every night, pbx2 gets “FREEPBX_SYSTEM_IDENT” set to pbx1.

It’s a simple manual fix, but, of course, it’s not feasible for someone to rename the system every day.

What is the intent of renaming the “spare” server?

And do I maybe have something misconfigured?

Thanks!

Since the warm spare restores all of the settings to it’s server, it’s also restoring the “System Identifier”

Option 1. Submit a feature request
Option 2. Write a post backup script which changes the name.

Thank you for the reply. Where is the correct place to log a FreePBX feature request? I did some searching, but I didn’t see where that’s supposed to be done from.

Option 3. Do option 2 then do option 1 with the script from option 2
