Voicemail password is in plain text and viewable by all

Is there a way, even though asterisk keeps its voicemail passwords in plain text not to show it in the gui as text but rather as a password field. This is a security problem, as we have people who do not want even the administrators to see the passwords while updating things in the GUI. Can this filed be changed from plain text to password field?

Actually that is a good point and should maybe a feature request.

What I did was edit the extensions.php file in /var/www/html/admin and
changed the line

to

Now it will be Asterisk rather that clear text.

Has any more thought been given to changing this default behavior?

Also, it seems the line and change referenced above is missing. Can anyone advise what change would make those fields function as described?
