Voicemail Notify (VMNotify)

OS: FreePBX 16

We are using VMNotify (Commercial, Sangoma) and it’s working fine, as intended.

In standard fashion, the sequence of the module is this

  1. Initial Greeting (we custom this)
  2. Asterisk Girl Says Mailbox Number (EXT #)
  3. Press 1 to Accept, 2 to Decline (we custom this message)
  4. Plays Voicemail (assuming you hit 1)
  5. Press 1 to Accept, 2 to Decline

That’s the basic sequence. What I want to do is REMOVE step 2. Don’t say the extension number… I want it removed/disabled because it’s unnecessary and confuses some people, esp. when we do an on-call rountine where the target number changes often between various people. In step #1 (initial greeting), we custom say what it’s for anyway… don’t need a mailbox number shouted at them.

I can’t find a setting/option to remove it. Any ideas? We can add this ability please?

Thanks! - Russ

This feels more like a life-hack, but one work around I found is…

  1. Call voicemail
  2. Choose mailbox options
  3. Change your “name”… and record nothing (like 1 split-second of dead air).

This nullifies it for all practical purposes, although I’m sure the backend code plays my super-short recording…

It works because by having a message (Even if empty), stops it from “saying” the mailbox number.

Still wish you could just simply disable it…
