Voice mail sound file format

Greetings,

Can anyone help -:

When a voice mail is left on our system, we get the email with a sound file and the file extension is a .WAV, however these play on my PC but not on my phone. I have tried 2 different phone HTC HD2 (Windows mobile) and on the Samsun Galaxy Tab (Android). I get an error message saying “File format not recognized”. I have tried changing the format in the web interface to GSM, but this does not work either.

I am FreePBX 2.5.2.4

Many Thanks - Leigh

Greetings - Many thanks, I will have a look around at that.

Again thanks - LeighM

You can change between wav and (wav49 I think) in the /etc/asterisk/voicemail.conf file.

This has the downside of increasing the size of the attachments.
