Hi,
what’s the best or recommended way to upgrade from version 1.818.210.58-1 to the latest track?
Reading through here:
http://wiki.freepbx.org/display/FD/FreePBX-Distro-1.8xx.210.58
it seems that there’s no direct way of doing so, however, it does suggest to use the “backup/restore” module.
Which template should be used as I am wanting to use “full”; additionally this module seems to not work on my system - I have version 2.10.0.41 installed however, after clicking on “New Backup” I do not see a table under the “Backup Items” heading??
Basically there’s no where for me to drag the Templates into…
Could a full re-install of the newer ISO work with just copying the old /etc/asterisk and /etc/dahdi directories over to upgrade?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
The current Stable Distro is built with Centos 6.x so we do not have a migration path for FreePBX Distro’s built on Centos 5.x to move up to 6.x You are correct you will want to use the Back-up and Restore module to make this happen. There is a user guide for this module on the wiki you can find it here. http://wiki.freepbx.org/display/F2/Backup+and+Restore-Guides+and+Videos
Thanks for the response!
Something wasn’t acting right with the module so I removed it and reinstalled it.
The table in question above “Backup Items” still doesn’t show but if I try to drag things over from the Templates section the table mysteriously appears for a brief moment where I can then place the Template contents.
Strange…
Yeah, CentOS 5 -> 6 upgrade not fun!! Hopefully will become easier using FedUp - at least it works ok on Fedora 17 -> 18.
