How was your original install of 2.9 done? Was it install from the distrubtion CD or did you build your own system and load FreePBX from the tarball?

I started some time ago with AsteriskNOW 2.8. I applied updates along the way and got to 2.9. Asterisk and Centos are latest available. The system was running perfectly. I recently added inbound fax detection and it worked fine as well.

Hi,

I started with AsteriskNow and have upgraded via module admin over the past year, through all versions.

Have been using 2.10 Beta successfully for a few weeks.

I upgraded this morning to 2.10rc1.0 and have similar errors and prompts for password.

Asterisk 1.8.9.0

2x Systems pbx1 and pbx2, both production, I broke both of them and didn’t snapshot before I proceeded.

Thanks
Paul

Hi,

I set the session directory permissions globally writable and the problem has a temporary fix.

The 11:41 session is previous to upgrade and the 18:15 is post upgrade after I set the global permissions. It’s still writing as the same user:group asterisk:asterisk

Hope it helps, it will get your system going again.

[root@pbx2 httpd]# chmod 777 /var/lib/php/session

[root@pbx2 httpd]# ls -lsd /var/lib/php/session
8 drwxrwxrwx 2 root apache 4096 Feb 8 18:12 /var/lib/php/session
[root@pbx2 httpd]# ls -ltr /var/lib/php/session
total 44
-rw------- 1 asterisk asterisk 456 Feb 8 11:41 sess_7ujh8d7jbg288n4a700a7th986
-rw------- 1 asterisk asterisk 440 Feb 8 18:15 sess_31ptnkfct5i5k551fo5m9c0781

thank you very much. that did the trick for me and saved me a lot of recovery time.

Paul,

Your skillful insight saved the day for me as well and will help alot of others that I am sure are in the same predicament.

Does the fix pose any security risks though?

Blessings,
