Upgrading FreePBX From ISO Install

Is there a guide to upgrading when you installed from an ISO? Can you just make a full backup of v4, install v5, and then do a restore? Will there be any complications, or is there a better way to upgrade?

I saw the link on how to upgrade if you did an install from the scripts originally but I wasn’t sure if that would work from an ISO install as well.

Thanks!

Di you try searching for “upgrade” on the wiki? There is plenty of documentation there.

Yeah I got things like this: http://wiki.freepbx.org/display/HTGS/Upgrading+standalone+FreePBX+GUI

Upgrading to Version 2 … plus my question was really geared towards upgrading from an ISO install vs. a scripted install.

Here is the link you are looking for:

And Here is a video outlining the upgrade process:

But yeah, that’s for upgrading minor releases.

You are in the right place, if using CLI you will run each of the minor updates in order to get where you need to be. The last update on EOL releases/versions will take you to the next version.

Thanks - I ran it and started getting errors in the GUI.

freepbx retrieve_conf failed, config not applied after upgrade
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function core_users_list() in /var/www/html/admin/modules/campon/functions.inc.php on line 292

Guess that’s another google search heh… Alright thanks I’ll keep going down this path.

vocalogic,

You need to make sure all modules are enabled before you start running the scripts. You have core disabled, so go enabled it in module admin and you’ll be good to go.

Thanks, I’ll check that. We normally just manually upgrade clients manually in kind of a rolling window but figured there was a better way w/o having to do an ISO re-install.

Thanks again!
