Unexpected EXTENSION_STATE: 4 (UNAVAILABLE) behaviour

I have a CSipSimple extension (2002) which will not ring when registered.

  • These extensions and the FreePBX are all on a routed WAN with each other with no NAT or firewalls in between
  • Here is the asterisk console output when dialled from another extension(2101) which is exhibiting no issues otherwise.
dialparties.agi: Starting New Dialparties.agi
dialparties.agi: Caller ID name is 'Stephen's Desk' number is '2101'

dialparties.agi: CW IN_USE/BUSY is: 1

Is there something I need to look for specifically to understand why the extension is showing this status?

dialparties.agi: EXTENSION_STATE: 4 (UNAVAILABLE)

Can someone please suggest where I might best target my troubleshooting efforts?

What is the actual state of the extension when you look at it with a sip show peers or pjsip show endpoints

I found a login issue with the wrong username. This fault was due to my own error.
