Unable to bridge audio on new SIP trunk

From my soft phone i am able dial extension and everyone can hear me and i can hear them.

From my soft phone i am able to dial out on our new SIP line. The other party rings and they can answer but they can’t hear me and i can’t hear them. If i put the call on hold they are able to hear our system’s hold music.

Our SIP trunk is using ulaw only
I configured my soft phone to use ulaw only as well.

During some test calls only one way audio was present… they could hear me but i couldn’t hear them.

Not sure where to begin looking.

Start looking at a all your network settings particularly the PNAT ones, and particularly on every router/firewall you may have between your client and your trunk, that would include you “desktop” firewall if your are using windoze.
