Unable to add extensions via the freepbx admin web

We are trying to add new extensions through the freepbx admin page (Extensions). They do not show after we try to add one. The message below is the only error message we get, and it is from the error log from apache:

PHP Notice: Undefined variable: i in /var/www/html/admin/modules/core/functions.inc.php on line 5848

We are using Core 2.8.0.4

This started happened after ticket http://www.freepbx.org/trac/ticket/4572 was fixed

Check a couple of things:

  1. Make sure that the new extension to be added is not already in the system
  2. Use an alternative browser if using IE (Firefox or Google Chrome).
  1. It does not exists, and I tried other numbers just in case

  2. Tried with firefox on linux and windows. Tried with internet exploder on windows

All with same result and same error message from apache

A quick reboot solved it, but we still get the same error message from the apache error log.

The error in apache log is just an informal message that can be disregarded. The ticket is still open and it will be fixed eventually.

I am glad that your system is up and running.

We do not have many extensions. Only 32. It has been a long time since we last added a new extension. I guess it is about 8 months ago.

The system has been upgraded from Asterisk 1.4 to 1.6 and freepbx 2.6 to 2.8.

Do you have many extensions?

Is this a distro of some sort (trixbox, Elastix or PBX in a Flash)?
