Two Questions - Duplicate Extension to another phone and Disable LAN passthrough

I have a few users who have two offices but only one extension. How can I assign two phones to one extension. Also, there are a few phones that are only going to be used in public areas of the building. Is there a way to disable the PC port on the phones?

FreePBX is a PBX not a “key-system” so basically no.

You can use Device & User mode, Find Me Follow, DSS and Hints even or ring groups to approximate what you want to do.

Disabling the “pass-through port” on your phone is hardware specific but almost always possible.

I’d just use a ring group… and “what he said” with dicko on disabling switch port on your phone.
