Trunks ***RE-RESOLVED***

I am trying to figure out how to set up a trunk in FreePBX/Trixbox, to use myphonecompany voip service. they have supplied me with my user name and pass credentials, but I just cant seem to get it to work.

If i look at asterisk info, there it shows that it is all registered and has an ok status. but i cant seem to get calls in or out. using it.

Incoming calls, get an error recording saying call can not be completed as dialed. I have more than one trunk, and cant get any calls to go out through myphone, it always just ends up going back to other trunk. even though they are routed to use myphone.

Anyone point me in the right direction?, or offer any advise?

Thanks
Tom

Solution.

I had to change the context settings in the OUTGOING SETTINGS section of the trunk as they were trumping the context setting in the INCOMING SETTINGS section to prevent it from working.

do u have a inbound catch all route???

Yea, I do have the catch all. and looking at the call logs, I am not seeing anything listed at all on the inbound, and the outbound, is falling to another trunk which is the secondary in sequence.

thanks for thinking.

Tom

Well, I have made some progress.

Now, I can get the call to go into the system. I no longer that the call cannot be completed as dialed error msg. instead, the system answers, and says “BYE” and hangs up on the caller. :shock:

could come in handy when that telemarketer calls, :twisted:

it does show up in the call logs now, which didnt happen b4.

Any thoughts there?

Tom

I forgot about Tools/Asterisk logfiles.

here is dealing with the “bye” call

I think I have it resolved,

looks like it was a context= problem,

Tom

well, I thought I had it fixed, but I had system problems after the upgrades, and had to drop it out and start over, I copy pasted the configuration for this out and back in, i can get calls out now, but cant get incoming calls, I am just pulling my hair, everytime I try upgrading with everyone else, I end up broke, LOL

anyone have any thoughts as to what to check?

Tom

outgoing calls working

here is a log copy for an incoming call, its givin me the ss-noservice recording.

Hi,

I am trying to set absolute timeout on my trunks, I have set this option under in extensions_custom.conf

[outrt-1-custom] exten => _NXXXXXX,1,Set(TIMEOUT(absolute=30))

my extensions_additional.conf looks like this

[outrt-1] ; Outgoing1
include => outrt-1-custom
exten => _NXXXXXX,1,Macro(user-callerid,LIMIT,)
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Macro(pinsets,1,1)
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Set(MOHCLASS=${IF($["${MOHCLASS}"=""]?default:${MOHCLASS})})
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Set(_NODEST=)
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Macro(record-enable,${AMPUSER},OUT,)
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Macro(dialout-trunk,13,${EXTEN},)
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Macro(dialout-trunk,14,${EXTEN},)
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Macro(dialout-trunk,15,${EXTEN},)
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Macro(dialout-trunk,11,${EXTEN},)
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Macro(dialout-trunk,2,${EXTEN},)
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Macro(dialout-trunk,12,${EXTEN},)
exten => _NXXXXXX,n,Macro(outisbusy,)

When I test my outgoing call the timeout does not work, could I be doing something wrong? Please help someone
