system recordings still wont upload!
someone shoot me…
Add new recording…ok
browse: to the folder where the file is located in the correct format as described
press upload: window appears that says (please wait until the page reloads) if you wait the page never reloads. If you press OK it reloads but the file does not upload.
What’s wrong its looks very simple but will not work.
the file is on 1.1m and I have tested with smaller files. The only way I can get systems recordings to work is by recording with a phone. The upload wont work.
I just tried to make a recording through FreePBX 2.2.0rc1 on Trixbox Version: 1.2.3 .
I told freepbx my extension number, I went to my phone, dialed *77 and recorded the message. I even listened to recording to see it was ok. When I returned to freePBX I tried to save message with a name but was given a message:
Unable to add /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/custom/GWPco-conf-welcome.wav - Can not read file!
Please note that I have other recordings I have done in past on this box, so it has worked and I know how it works (normally).
So it would appear that both upload and record are broken.
You can always FTP your file to the server, move it to the proper sounds/custom directory and then chown it. That’s assuming you have an FTP server running. If not, it’s fairly easy to get one running under Linux, depending on your system. The problem you’ll have there is that the sounds won’t be in the DB, so it won’t be visible from the GUI. You could manually add the entries to your DB if you found the proper table.
Sorry to be so useless, but the process should be as above. I just don’t know the specifics.
