System Recordings Not working

I have checked most of my feature codes and put asterisk into debugging mode but when I enter an extension and dial *77 the system recording option doesnt work. I just get a dialtone as if I dialed nothing, echo test works and other feature codes, just not *77 and *99

I am running asterisk 1.8.3.2 and Freepbx 2.8.1.4

It does work when I use the non default options ie *66/*55 instead of *77/*99

Just a guess you running some type of Linksys/Cisco phone or ATA with integrated vertical codes that are not disabled?

That still doesnt explain why the recordings do not work, perhaps I have a directory setting wrong?
