System recordings are silent when played through an ext

I don’t know what I have done to cause this. I need to undo it quickly.

I am running Trixbox 2.2 (Asterisk 1.2.18/freePBX 2.2.1)

The device has several trunks and around 14 extensions (mainly GXP-2000s).

Everything (ie: in/out calls, internal calls & the feature code facilites) was/were working fine. Except 1 SIP trunk.

During attempts to configure this SIP trunk I did look at one or two config files, but just SIP and extensions.

Now I find that no sound from System Records is reaching any (all) of the extensions. Various logs show the calls are completing, eg 7777, *97, *98 etc, and that the announcements are playing. But no sound emits from the extensions.

Facilities still function, (eg I can access the IVR with 7777 and make a selection to an extension or ring group), but I cannot hear the announcement.

If I call in from a trunk, there is no problem.

I also do not seem to be able to make system recordings.

I’m guessing I’ve screwed up the codecs somehow. But I don’t know. Neither do I know where to start looking. As good as some of the documentation is… it naturally doesn’t address this kind of issue directly.

Does anyone have any advice please.
