What Triggers Losing An Activation?
Is there a span of time where if an activation does not check in, that it drops?
The short answer is a change in your hardware ID. The longer answer is whatever is used in creating that check some that is your hardware ID. Typically a hard drive change or a Mac address change will do the trick

So I could hypothetically never hit in the internet and keep my activation
some features do phone home so things may break without internet. The activation itself is tied to the hardware but the individual product licenses and requirements may differ.
