Hi
I am using QUEUEs with Static Agents
most of the static agents are extensions
one of the agents is an external phone number
I have noticed that it takes a full 10 seconds before the external phone number rings
while the extensions are ringing.
Is there a way to fix this so that the external phone rings at the same time as the local extensions ?
Thanks
Walt

What type trunk are you using for the outbound call?

I think the problem you are having is that connecting to a PSTN number simply takes time for the call setup. Internally, the connection takes almost no time, but calling an external number can take a little longer.
The way I set up an external call to forward to another external number:
Create a custom extension, setting it up as you would any extension.
In the custom dial string box put whatever command you need to dial out on a trunk. In my system with a PRI and ZAP trunks, my custom command is:
zap/g0/xxxxxxxxxx
Where xxxxxxxxxx is the number to dial.

That’s the same setup I have. You’d use the same custom dial string. zap/g0/xxxxxxxx.
You can have the system send you an Email/Instant message when you have VP.
Put your cell phone’s IM address in the pager field.

By the way…
Telephony terms:
PSTN – Public Switched Telephone Network
POTS – Plain Old Telephone System (Tip and Ring Copper)
PRI – Primary Rate Interface.
Both POTS and PRI are ways to connect to the PSTN.
