[SOLVED] FreePBX User Portal Does Not Play Correct New Voicemail After Refreshing Web Browser

Hello Everyone,

All of my co-workers access there voicemail and call recordings through their User Portal, so they always have the webpage open. The problem occurs when they receive a new voicemail or recording and they either refresh the web browser, click “Inbox” or “Call Monitor”. The portal will correctly show the new voicemail or recording data but when when you listen to the actual recording it will play the one below it. The only way to remedy this problem is to clear the browser history and log back into the portal. We are using Firefox 11 on Windows and Linux machines and the issue is the same throughout. Any help is always appreciated!

I need to revive this post as the issue is still present in FreePBX Has anyone else experienced this and can provide a solution?

My persistance has paid off as I have found a solution to this problem.

Here are the steps:

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Type about:config in the address bar and press enter
  3. Click I’ll be careful, I promise! if that comes up.
  4. Type network.http.use-cache in the Search bar.
  5. Double click the network.http.use-cache to change the Value to false
  6. Exit out of the webpage

I’m not sure what ramifications changing this setting will have but I have not experienced any negative results yet. Plus, it’s so nice that we don’t have to clear the browser history and log back in just to listen to a different recording!!
