Just having a look at this post, it suggest that turning off wanrouter might solve this - Upgrade to FreePBX 14 from 13 failing

If I have understood correctly, wanrouter is for a physical card to connect to external lines. This machine is a virtual machine and we use SIP trunks to connect to external lines. So should be ok running this command?

chkconfig wanrouter off

Any advise would be great.

Many Thanks

your /boot partition is 100% delete old kernels

@dicko How do I do this please?

I am not a linux person really and what I do know is mainly based on Ubuntu. I am guessing it is the equivalent to Sudo apt-get autoremove ?

Thanks

rm -rf /boot/(old kernal version)

post

du -h --max-depth 1 /boot/

How do I know what to put instead of (old kernal version) please?

Could I run this command to make it easier please?

sudo package-cleanup --oldkernels --count=1

du -h --max-depth 1 /boot

255K /boot/efi
13K /boot/lost+found
290K /boot/grub
92M /boot

Thanks

did you try t?

Hello,

I haven’t tried anything as yet.

Should I try it?

Thanks

I ran package-cleanup --oldkernels --count=1

Then running df -h showed around 53% free on /boot

I am now running the upgrade again, I think it has gone further than before. Will report back soon.

Thanks for all your help.

It failed again, this is the log:

I am guessing I would need to make /boot bigger some how?

Thanks again for the help.

That is actually extraordinarily hard to do

post again

du -h /boot/

a quick guess is you have both el6 and el7 kernels installed somehow.

Incase it is relevant, after the upgrade failed, I didn’t restore my VM snapshot or anything.

Here is the output form: du -h /boot/

Thanks again for the help

du -h /boot/

Unfortunately it dies look like RH upgrade is the problem, I have no experience here, perhaps another contributer does.

I would suggest booting a,“rescue” linux disk and modifying the partition, make sure you have aworking backup strategy before you go further.

Thanks for the help @dicko

I do have a Snapshot of the Virtual Machine plus a FreePBX backup.

I took a risk, connected via WinSCP and deleted /boot/initramfs-2.6.32-642.6.2.el6.x86_64.img. I then re-ran the upgrade tool and it got further and then asked me to reboot to execute the upgrade. I have done that and now it is running the upgrade. It will take ages to do so will report back when it is finished.

I suspect that while this may “solve” it, long term I may need to do something about this. I am thinking that I could create a brand new install on SNG7 and restore my FreePBX configuration backup into that?

Thanks for the help.
