SIP Trunk with minimal Information

The routing you have here should get you further than you are getting, although, if the media address differs from the signalling, you will need a route over em4 that covers that, or is that 10.74.193.8?

Well following are the IPs they gave me.
Signaling: 10.66.194.136 and Media: 10.74.193.8

I request you that you please give me something solid that I can tell them that its from their side. not mine.

I know I am taking your time, but its a request.
As far as I think, I pretty much did the settings and that is an achievement for me
And thanks to you for guiding me.

I’d suggest capturing a pcap (e.g. with tcpdump) of the traffic on em4. That should give them something that takes Asterisk out of the equation, is in a format they should understand, and shows them INVITEs being sent to them with no response, and OPTIONS being received (and correctly responded to).

It should also confirm that traffic is going to and from the gateway (MAC address).

They should react to the INVITE, even if only to reject it.

David, can I send you the 2 files before I send them ?

You should only need one pcap file, with record numbers of the key points. In general anything you want me to look at needs to be posted on the forum.

The SIP Debug was already sent … just posing once here

You also need the outbound INVITE (which should show with the same MAC addresses as the 200 OK.

Ok. Got it.

Well I guess that there is an issue from my side, as tcpdump is not capturing any invite. I have disabled the trunk and enabled it back, restarted the asterisk service hoping it will send invite… no invite seen in the tcmp dump. Am i right that there is issue from my side ?

That does suggest a routing problem on your side, although it claims to have sent to the correct address, and your routing table appears to use em4 for that address.

Although their ICMP suppression may break it, you might want to traceroute the address. You should get one of:

  • correct interface
  • wrong interface
  • no first hop response.

You could try a control for the 192.168 side, if you get anything except wrong interface. to eliminate the wrong interface case.

Very valuable information from you.

I have specifically tried to ping and get a traceroute to the signaling IP via the em4 (which is my NIC) and it didnt get any reply. I personally dont think there is any issue with the routing table.

I am going to send them as it is. I am tired of them. They are one of the biggest telecom companies in my country and their support is zero in this case.

@david55

Many many thanks for your information. The issue was with the SIP provider. The things you told me were spot on.

A small favor, I am doing the inbound. Can you please tell me if i require any special inbound settings ?

On the information available, our outbound trunk settings should work for inbound as well, without any explicit inbound settings. The only other inbound setting would be the DID for route.
