Our office manager’s phone has suddenly stopped working. I checked through everything, and the phone comes up as “not registered” but I can’t figure out how to register it.
I’m new to my role and FreePBX so any help would be great.
Try checking in “Administrator > System Admin > Intrusion Detection” or in “Firewall” (if it is active) if your network has not been accidentally banned
What, if anything, appears in the Asterisk log when the phone attempts to register? Note that the phone may retry infrequently or give up after a while, so reboot the phone to force a registration attempt.
If nothing in the log, run sngrep and report what, if anything, appears there on a registration attempt.
If also nothing, check network connectivity, easily done by temporarily connecting a working phone to the manager’s cable.
If network connectivity is good, log into the phone’s web interface and confirm that it is trying to register to the correct IP address and extension number.
