Should FAX statistics (fax show stats) persist between Asterisk FAX module reload/restart?

I place this question here but I don’t know if it’s directly FreePBX related at all.

I noticed that every time I reload Asterisk (and so its modules) I loose FAX statistics (fax show stats shows all values zeroed).

Maybe (well…Surely) it works as designed (by Asterisk) so there nothing I could argue about that but I’m asking if FreePBX would (or could) instead save FAX Statistics for any reporting use (as happens with CDR…but more FAX centric).

Will it be a nice Feature Request (to preserve in some way FAX stats)?

Actually the representation through Asterisk CLI is this one:

[font=Courier]
FAX Statistics:

Current Sessions : 0
Reserved Sessions : 0
Transmit Attempts : 0
Receive Attempts : 0
Completed FAXes : 0
Failed FAXes : 0

Spandsp G.711

Switched to T.38 : 0
Call Dropped : 0
No FAX : 0

Train Failure : 0
Retries Exceeded : 0
Protocol Error : 0
TX Protocol Error : 0
RX Protocol Error : 0
File Error : 0
Memory Error : 0
Unknown Error : 0

Spandsp T.38

which resembles the sections reported on FFA Manual about fax show stats:

  • Current Sessions
  • Receive Attempts
  • Transmit Attempts
  • Completed FAXes
  • Failed FAXes
