Sangoma Talk SMS IOS 18.2 and 18.2.1

Hello everyone,

I’m encountering an issue with Sangoma Talk messaging (SMS) on iPhones running iOS 18.2 and 18.2.1. Specifically, agents with these iOS versions are receiving a 401 error when trying to use the messaging service.

Here’s what I’ve observed:

  • The messaging service works perfectly on other iPhones with different iOS versions (e.g., 18.1.1).
  • To troubleshoot, I transferred and provisioned the same extension to my phone running iOS 18.1.1, and it worked flawlessly.
  • However, when the same extension is used on a phone with iOS 18.2.1, the 401 error persists.

Is this a known issue with iOS 18.2 or 18.2.1, or could there be a specific configuration required for these versions? Has anyone experienced this problem and found a fix?

Ok an update.

The issue looks like a BUG when you have a virtual extension with the same email as the pjsip extension that is getting provisioned by sangoma it gave that error. once we removed the email from the virtual extension we did not get that error anymore !
