Sangoma.local

Hello everybody,

i checked my dns calls and i found a lot of requests like sip.12voip.com.sangoma.local (sip trunk.sangoma.local) . Of course the domain sangoma.local doesn’t exist.
Any idea why ? Is it a problem ? Probably i should improve somewhere the settings.

Thanks for your ideas

Pierre

_sip._udp.sip.iptel.org.sangoma.local
_sip._udp.sip.ovh.be.sangoma.local
_sip._udp.sip.ovh.fr
_sip._udp.sip.frynga.com.sangoma.local

Well, this is interesting. This most likely has to do with the domain of the FreePBX machine in DNS being configured to point to sangoma.local. And you are correct, this domain doesn’t exist, however, DNS is automatically resolving to it.

It would be interesting to see how /etc/resolv.conf is setup.

As far as resolving it, it would be interesting to see if this is a misconfiguration in /etc/resolv.conf, but you can also find places where sip12voip.com has been configured and add an extra ‘.’ to the end of it so it’s like sip.12voip.com., this will tell DNS to not automatically resolve the domain name at least.
