S500 Phone Apps - Voicemail Button Failed to Load XML File

Restored our FreePBX virtual machine due to a failing SSD and not sure if this is a new or existing problem… I had to reactivate and zend reset due to a change of the virtual NIC’s MAC address.

All phone apps seem to work fine… however if a user doesn’t have a voicemail and tries to get to the voicemail app they get: “Failed to load XML file !” Our environment is 100% S500s

If there’s a voicemail waiting, it works as intended. If there’s an old voicemail in there you can still get in. However if you try to delete the old voicemail, you are also greeted with “Failed to load XML file !”… but it does delete.

  • Happens on both SIP and PJSIP extensions
  • Uninstalled/Reinstalled RestApps
  • Factory defaulted one phone to see if that made a difference: it didn’t

I get this in the httpd access_log:
10.1.2.122 - - [21/Nov/2017:11:02:45 -0800] “GET /applications.php/voicemail/main?linestate=$$LINESTATE$$&user= HTTP/1.1” 500 45347 “-” “Sangoma S500 2.0.4.37 00:50:58:50:a1:52”

No idea where to start troubleshooting this.

Failed to mention this is an up to date FreePBX 13 install.

Have you submitted a commercial support ticket. The phones are supported.

Just did it. They could make the ticketing process easier.

Lorne picked up my ticket and has already resolved the problem.

For others, per Lorne there is a bug in the latest Phone Apps. Our fix was to roll back 2 minor revisions of the Phone Apps module.
