Root filled up after 4 days, and no phone calls

for two days I have been getting:

Storage space is getting critically high on the following drives of your
system:
/dev/mapper/s7_freepbx-root is X% full.

yesterday it was 85% today it’s 97%. Did a reboot, no difference. We have not even started using this system. Just installed it and made 4 test calls. my root is using 50G of 52G, and my home is only using 113M of 98G. Why is it filling up, and can I give root more space?

found the symptom. /var/log/asterisk - fail2ban logs were 44gb in size. Now the question is why …
